1 1/2 cups of salad oil 3/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce 2 Tbsp. dry mustard (I never use this much) 2 1/4 tsps salt (way too much) 1 Tbsp black pepper (I don't use this much either) 1/2 cup wine vinegar 1 1/2 tsps. dried parsley flakes 2 crushed garlic cloves (I use powdered garlic) 1/3 cup of lemon juice Combine all ingredients in a bowl until blended and store in quart container, preferably glass. (mayo jar). Since you are not making shish-kabobs with lamb I would suggest not soaking the steaks but just brushing some on them early in the day. Both sides use glass pan not metal, like a cake pan. Bon Appetit Evelyn
Banana Nut Bread Heat oven to 350 Cook time 1 hour Need two bowls - one for wet stuff one for dry Wet 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine or butter = 1 stick 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (3-4 bananas) 1 TBSP lemon juice Dry 2 cups sifted flour 3 Tsps. baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chopped nuts Cream sugar and butter, add eggs one at a time and mix well after each one. Stir in bananas and lemon juice. (juice prevents blackening of bananas. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to wet ingredients and stir quickly but not too much. Add nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan ( 1 large or 2 small) Bake 1 hour at 350 and test with toothpick at 45 mins. Usually tastes better on second day, but is lovely hot out of the oven. Use Pam on pan, easier than greasing. and can be made with egg beaters for less cholesterol
1.0 Top Sirloin 1.5 to 1.75" thick 1.5 cups Virgin Olive oil 0.5 cup crushed garlic 0.25 salt/pepper 1.0 cup chopped red onion 1.0 Tbsp+ oregano (use to taste) 3.0 Bay leaves (can use shopped) 0.5 cup balsamic vinegar 1.0 container of Italian Bread crumbs In 9X12 Pyrex baking dish add, crushed garlic, red onion, oregano, bay leaves, salt/pepper, balsamic vinegar, and Olive oil. Marinade steak for 3 hours. When done coat entire top sirloin in Italian Bread crumbs, place on grill (see below). Prewarm BBQ / Oven to roughly 400deg.F for 15 minutes. When hot place steak on grill for 12.5 minutes. Turn once with tongs. The bread crumbs hold the juices in keeping the meat tender. This adds a unique twist to the same old steak. Sure to be a family favorite. For Debbie, squash, eggplant, and a whole host of other vegetables can be substituted for the meat. Serve with salad, vegetables, and wine (RED). Bon Appetite! Mark
